the Canadian winter presents challenges
for our Around the Bay 30km race training
we have trained in the snow and the slush
our average daily temperature is 2 degrees celcius
which is unseasonably warm for this time of year
two days ago I ran 21.1km
(not in the snow)
the official length of a half-marathon
I've always wanted to do this
and particularly before I turn 32
yay for me!
a year of independent off-peak travel for an Aussie couple in their thirties, from Australia to Asia, through Mongolia, to Russia, Europe, Africa and North America and back again...eventually

travel realities
traveling for one year
is not like traveling for two weeks
you need to pace yourself
so you won't be overwhelmed
and tire of the whole thing
yes, it is possible to become tired
traveling the world
and even (shock horror) bored!

be realistic, be creative
to sustain a year of travel
without working
is no mean feat
planning is key
but so is flexibility and
the ability to compromise
unless you have an endless supply of money
(if you do, let me in on the secret)
you will need to be realistic about what you
can see and do on the journey
